The enchanting melodies of Nan still resonate in our hearts, even though the "San Silp Thin Nan Tamnan Kamphaeng Mueang: The Rhythm of Nan 2025" event, held from May 16-17, 2025, at the Nan Old City Wall area, Mueang Nan District, Nan Province, has concluded. The positive experiences and collaborative spirit witnessed over those two days will continue to inspire and drive Nan's sustainable development forward.
The event officially commenced on Friday, May 16, 2025, at 5:00 PM. We were honored by Dr. Ekniti Nitithanprapas, Director-General of the Treasury Department, who presided over the opening ceremony and participated in activities to disseminate historical knowledge about the old city wall and moat for the 2025 fiscal year. Colonel Nawin Preechapanichyakul, Manager of the Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism Administration (DASTA) Sukhothai, acting as Manager of DASTA Nan, also joined a discussion on "Whispering the Love for the Old City Wall." This highlighted the commitment to preserving and extending the value of the old city wall and moat across social, economic, cultural, and environmental dimensions, including generating income for local communities and fostering sustainable participation from all sectors.
The atmosphere throughout the two-day event was vibrant and diverse. Key attractions that drew participants included the "Nan Old City Wall Market," which offered local communities a platform to showcase their products; the Nan Old City Wall and Moat Exhibition, which provided historical insights; and the Nan Provincial Coin Design Contest Exhibition, demonstrating the new generation's creativity. Additionally, workshop activities in the "Nan Creative Crafts and Folk Art Space" zone allowed attendees to engage in hands-on crafting and explore Nan's unique craft traditions.
Of course, the local cultural performances and folk music added to the lively and pleasant ambiance, encouraging participants to "have the utmost fun" in this land of art and legend.
"San Silp Thin Nan Tamnan Kamphaeng Mueang: The Rhythm of Nan 2025" was not merely an exhibition. It represented the beginning of deeper collaboration and understanding among government agencies, the private sector, and the public in preserving and developing Nan into a sustainable learning center, tourist destination, and a warm home for everyone. This aligns with the concept that "San Silp Thin Nan Tamnan Kamphaeng Mueang" is about blending the past with the present to create a bright future for Nan.
